VeXpo, short for Vtuber Expo, is a rather young convention held at the Birmingham National Exhibition Center in the United Kingdom and so far my only convention abroad. Plans for attending as a visitor started in 2024, with a glorious short notice plan to just casually cycle from Düsseldorf to Birmingham – yeah that didn't work out. Not for lack of physical capability on my end, but time constraints in my vacation day budget. What a shame really.
Anyway, 2025 comes round and my initial plans for the September vacation had to be cancelled (curses be upon you, federal tax office). So what do you do? Make short notice plans to go for a convention to do work as a photographer. Abroad. Right. Normal people stuff.
Having covered the second run of VeXpo and gotten to meet some lovely folk, both fellow Germans on my flight there and back as well as new friends across the great river, I'm looking forward for this one hopefully becoming a common occurrence in my schedule for years to come as well. Angelo, if you're reading this: HIRE ME AGAIN AAAAAAAAA (srsly, I had a lot of fun, you guys are doing an amazing job and I definitely want to improve on some things I tried last year ^^)
